Veteran coach eyed as head coach for women's SEA Games volleyball team

DAVAO CITY – One of the top coaches in the history of the UAAP women’s volleyball is being considered as the head coach of the women’s national volleyball team in the forthcoming Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam.

Ramil de Jesus is being eyed by the Philippine National Volleyball Federation as the coach of the Philippine team in the 2021 SEA Games.

PNVT development chairman Tony Boy Liao said De Jesus, 11-time UAAP Volleyball champion is perfect for the job and he is hopeful the latter will accept their offer.

The Philippine Women’s Volleyball team failed to win a medal in the last 2019 SEA Games hosted by the Philippines.

The team led by volleyball superstar Alysa Valdez just finished fourth in the tournament.

The crown was won by perennial SEA Games champion, Thailand.
