AAK Davao nets 19 medals in Online Kumite Tournament

DAVAO CITY – The Association for the Advancement of Karatedo (AAK) Davao City branch won 19 medals in the E-Fantom Kumite Finals last April 10.

AAK won eight golds, eight silvers and three bronzes in the tournament participated in by some of the top karate clubs in the Philipines.

Rommel Tan, the branch chief of AAK Davao and Karate Pilipinas regional director is very pleased with the victory of hiskaratekas.

“Thank you, Lord, Thank you also to the ever-supportive parents and coaching staff,” Tan said in a Facebook post.

The AAK Davao are feeling good for the past few months.Last November 28-29,2020, AAK Davao also won 11 medals in the Online Karate E-Kata Tournament.

The Davaoeño karatekas won six golds, two silvers, and 3 bronzes in the international karate tournament participated in by 16 countries including Sweden, Malaysia, and Macau.

The AAK gold medal winners are Heleina So, Zacchary Subang, Ian Carlos Pascual, Liam Japheth Lim, Sam Cartagena, and Robert Dayanan Jr.

The silver medal winners are Vryzyse Krebs and Nirza Jared Dade.The bronze medal winners are Aldren Solon, Jamie Danielle Nirza, and Julian Ambrose Ramirez.

Tan said the outstanding performance of the AAK Davao members made them ranked second overall among the club teams who joined the prestigious tournament.
