President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on Saturday, April 3, approved the recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) to extend the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) classification of the National Capital Region (NCR), Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal for another week.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in his announcement on Saturday the another set of ECQ will start on Monday, April 5 until April 11.
The extension is due to the rising case of COVID-19 coming from the said areas in the past few days.
Roque said the enforcement of the Prevent, Detect, Isolate, Treat and Reintegrate (PDITR) Strategy will be intensified.
“Kasama po diyan sa PDITR ang pagbabahay-bahay paghahanap ng may sintomas pag-subject sa kanila sa RT-PCR Testing at isolation ( The PDITR will include house to house tracing to check if there are symptomatic persons and subject them to undergo RT-PCR Testing and isolation), ” he said.
He said health care utilization, case numbers and the PDITR gatekeeping indicators would serve as the parameters to be assessed for the succeeding weeks risk classification.
Roque said the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has been directed to ensure the concerned local government units shall provide these data while the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) were ordered to provide the data in the workplaces and establishments.
He said the Task Group on Management of Returning Overseas Filipinos (TG MROF) shall provide the data on returning overseas Filipinos.
