DAVAO CITY – Body of a 15-year-old girl was recovered Tuesday from Lasang canal here, Police said.
The body with a stab wound in the stomach was identified as that of one, alias Weng.
Her wounded body was dumped in a canal at Purok Taurus, Tambongon-Bucana Road in Lasang.
Bunawan Police Station commander, Major Noel Villahermosa said the victim was a resident of the said Purok.
Police said a nearby resident noticed a human body in said canal around 6:30 in the morning.
In a policed report, the victim and her lesbian girlfriend attended a birthday at around 8 p.m. on Monday, April 26. Then the two left at around 11 p.m. despite the heavy rain.
Initial investigation shows, the victim sustained a stab wound in the stomach, but the blood was believed washed away by the rain.
The Scene of the Crime Operative (SOCO) led by Major Nelson Lee Silveron arrived and inspected the crime scene around 8:55 a.m.
The victim’s body was brought to Rivera Funeral Homes for the required autopsy.
Villahermosa in an interview said, they have yet to establish the motive of the killing as the investigation is still ongoing and pending the autopsy result.
He said there are two persons of interest being investigated including the victim’s lesbian girlfriend.
“Under investigation pa . Naa mi person of interest na among gina imbestigahan karon,” he added.
When asked if the victim was raped, Villahermosa said based on initial probe, there is no indicator of rape before she was killed
“Murag wala kay wala man mahilabtan or nausab ang iya gisuot na pantalon,” he added.
He however said they can’t make any conclusion in order not to pre-empt the ongoing investigation.
