DAVAO CITY – Heavy rainfall on Saturday evening (April 10) led to a flash flood in a village in Mati City, Davao Oriental, affecting six families composed of 22 individuals.
Mati City Information Officer Ben Tesiorna, said the flooding affected 30 houses in Purok Proper and Sitio Tambak, both in Barangay Macambol.
He said those houses are most affected by the flooding with reported damages including their personal belongings.
On April 8, two families in said barangay were also evacuated as flood submerged their homes.
No one was reported injured in the two floodings.
Tesiorna assured the affected families of initial food assistance.
“The city has designated evacuation centers in every barangay. However, most opted to stay and just clean their houses,” Tesiorna told News Fort.
