Drug den dismantled, female teacher, 5 others arrested

DAVAO CITY – Agents from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and police  dismantled a drug den  in Davao de Oro leading to the arrest of  six suspects including a female public school teacher, Saturday (May1) night. 

PDEA director Antonio Rivera in an interview said  the suspects were apprehended during the conduct of a buy-bust that resulted in the dismantling of a drug den at the house of the teacher in Bayanihan Street, Purok 2, Barangay Poblacion, Nabunturan, Davao de Oro.

Arrested were Dowey Eve Lago Tagud alias Dowey. She is a teacher in Montevista National High School Annex in said province. Police tagged Dowey as the “drug den maintainer,” according to Rivera.

Also arrested were Dowey’s husband Alejandro Lago Tagud alias Imbo and drug den visitors Aileen Quilisadio Alberca, Jomar Lago Taneza, Darwin Boiser Tusay, and Marilyn Delizero Panon.

Rivera said the suspects yielded some 12 grams of suspected shabu worth more or less P96,000 and other pieces of evidence.

Prior to the operation, Rivera said, authorities conducted monitoring and verification about the illegal drug activities of theTagud couple and immediately planned an operation.

He said the suspects will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
