DAVAO CITY – Two of the most wanted persons in Caraga Region were apprehended in separate law enforcement operations in Agusan del Sur and Surigao del Sur yesterday (February 26).
Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Debold Sinas identified the arrested suspects as Enriqueto Bada Gonzaga, 49 and Genard Pelin Lleno who carry the aliases of Jernardo, Geraldo, and Bebot, 62, and a resident of Purok 1, Barangay Bigaan, Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.
Gonzaga was arrested around 5:59 a.m on Friday in Purok 4, San Vicente Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.
Gonzaga has been listed as the number one most wanted person in Agusan del Sur and has a standing warrant of arrest issued by Judge Marigel S Dagani Hugo, Presiding Judge of Regional Trial Court 10, Judicial Region Branch 6 Prosperidad, Agusan Del Sur for rape and violation of Republic Act (RA) 9516 or Illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
Recovered from Gonzaga was one .38 Caliber revolver with two rounds of bullets during the implementation of a search warrant issued by Judge Fernando R Fudalan Jr, Acting Presiding Judge Regional Trial Court Branch 7 Bayugan City.
Lleno, on the other hand, was arrested by local police in simultaneous anti-criminality law enforcement operation early morning yesterday in Purok 1A, Barangay Bigaan, Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur for attempted murder.
According to Sinas, Lleno was listed as Chairman of Bigaan Unified Farmers Association (BUFA) of Barangay Bigaan, Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur under Kahugpungan sa mga Mag-uuma sa Surigao del Sur (KAMASS)
“Our resolve to rid the country of the most wanted and dangerous criminals remains a priority,” Sinas said.
